And I certainly understand this approach. However, there are some situations where this is simply not suitable - where missing a fax costs money. Take, for example, the real estate industry where a fickle customer (isn't everyone fickle when dealing with real estate?) can be surveying mortgage quotes (frequently done by fax) and if you don't get their faxed authorization to pull their credit report and then you call them two days later to find out where it is ... well that customer may have already signed with another lender... and that just cost that agent 1-2% of the mortgage price (so that lost fax easily cost $2000 in lost opportunity).
