Feel free to take a look at https://github.com/lardconcepts/asterisk-digitalocean-voipfone-config/blob/master/Asterisk-14-on-Ubuntu.md Ignore the bit about Voipfone and just skip to the "Install Asterisk" bit. I've used this same script with Asterisk 12,13 and 14 on Ubuntu 15,16 and 17 so this should work! Let me know how you get on.
