A. Cisco Inline Power, a pre-standard implementation, is supported at initial release. IEEE inline power will be supported in the future. The original IEEE 802.3 standard did not include specifications for power over Ethernet, which is now being addressed in the IEEE 802.3af draft. The draft should be ratified by mid-2003. Cisco is actively involved in the 802.3af taskforce and is committed to the development and support of the IEEE inline power standard. To preserve customer's existing investment, Cisco Inline Power will continue to be supported. Q. What local power option available for the Cisco IP Phone 7905G? A.
