ok, i will do another question:
1. how can i invite (call an arbitrarily number) someone to a conference
room?
2. Is there a transfer method (different than # and extension) in which
i
will not be thrown out the line?

We've used a call file for this exact scenario with success. The manager
interface or an AGI script could also probably be used. What we did was
set up our conference internally (room 501) and then used a callfile
similar to the following:
Channel: Zap/8/1xxxxxxxxxx
RetryTime: 60
WaitTime: 30
Context: meetme
Extension: 501
Priority: 1
