Linksys released a new firmware for the WRT54G with QoS included, so there should be no need for the sveasoft hack.
For a cheaper solution, stuff a couple of extra ethernet cards in a PC and make it your firewall by installing smoothwall in it. There is a module that adds QoS to it and it seems to work pretty well.
