HP servers are generally very solid machines. Are you running SMP? That could make a difference in IRQ behavior.

Hi Scott, Confident the config was done right - took zaptel.conf/zapata.conf off a tc2120 box in which the card works fine. We'll try a 2.4 kernel - thanks for your advice too!
