Wait a minute, you are saying, that pri_net is setting the card to NT mode? AFAIK NT mode must be set somewhere in the hardware configuration (e. g. when loading the kernel module - see http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+zaphfc). Nevertheless, I tried this already, the HiPath still says that it receives no signal and gives me a yellow alarm in zttool.
