Title: Normal
Well, going into a CO port on the PBX means that you can just grab a trunk & dial out,  which is nice for the outbound side.  Unfortunately, on the inbound side, the call would just appear on that line - you would have to route the call to an auto-attendant, or use DISA to allow the caller to dial directly to their party.  Hmmm.  You might be on to something here.  DISA might just be the ticket...

I have the user manual here, but I'd have to dig & see if it explains how to set up DISA.  I don't have the install guide, which I think is where this information would be.  I'll have a look & see if there's anything in here - I'm very interested in finding out if this can be made to work.

I wonder if I should go out to the warehouse & dig out the spare 1232 that we have sitting in a box.  Heck, I should probably pull out one of my spare Toshibas too, and set up a real testbed.  But where would I put everything?

Subject: RE: [Asterisk-Users] Panasonic KX-TD1232 Signaling

To expand upon my original question, does anyone know of any devices that would make connectivity between the Panasonic system and Asterisk possible?  What are opinions of using FXS ports in Asterisk going into to CO ports on the PBX?  Or if I'm putting money into the problem, how would I go about setting up a PRI connection between the two?  A PRI connection would give me 20 odd lines correct?

Thanks for your help.

Brian- I would really appreciate if you did find anything in your Panasonic book if you could please let me know.

Arrrgh.  I'm hoping to do the same, except in my case I have 2 Toshibas that I plan to connect too.  The Toshibas can at least send a DTMF "D" upon disconnect, though Asterisk can't do anything with this.  Yet.  I was hoping that the Panasonic wouldn't have the same problem, but maybe I'm wrong.

There must be some way to configure the Panasonic to do it though, because I've had a Micom system connected to my Panasonic for at least 5 years.  Since I have not had any disconnect issues, I'm assuming that the Panasonic is able to send some kind of signalling back to the Micom.

I guess I'll have to look in the Panasonic book to see if it has anything to say on the subject...

Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Panasonic KX-TD1232 Signaling

My company has an old Panasonic KX-TD1232 phone system that they are using.  I want to interface my Asterisk box with this system for a good conferencing solution.  I have two X100P clone cards in my server for testing.  They are hooked up to the analogue phone ports on the back of the digital phones.

My problem is that the Panasonic system does not do hang-up signaling so the X100Ps don't know when to hangup the phone.  I've put a volt meter on the line and the voltage does not change at all when the Panasonic Phone is hung up.  I've gotten it to work sometimes with the busy detect because the Panasonic system provides a busy signal when the other end hangs up, however, this is not ideal for voicemail and conferences, especially because it only works two out of three times.

If anyone has any solution to this situation, besides using a PRI line between the two, let me know.

Thanks,

Dan
