Wow, thats a neat little peice of software. Probably one of the easiest softphones to install in Linux for sure. It pretty much worked right away for me with few problems (except that I found out I had 4569 blocked on my PBX... guess I don't use IAX2 very much). Seems to work fine with my soundcard, except I seem to have a few problems with the volume being very low, but that isn't anything to do with the software (probably be fine if I had a headset). One of the things I found kind of annoying was not having letters on the keypad. If you mouse over and hold for a second, it shows you the letters, but its kind of annoying when you're trying to type your password and you have it memorized as a word, and not a pattern or numeric digits :) All in all, I'd say this is a very good start and will probably become the defacto IAX2 softphone for Linux. I haven't tested the tel: URI function yet, but if it works as expected, that'll be very cool. Also need to test with just dialing [EMAIL PROTECTED]/extension directly from the address box. So more things to test than to report on, but its definately a nice start to the software. (And the fact that its integrated with Firefox just makes it way cooler :)) -- Leif Madsen. http://www.leifmadsen.com http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/asterisk
