We're not selling anything really -- we're just trying to give those
who know nothing about Asterisk a nice synopsis of the software and
what it can (and cannot) do for a business. People are free to ask
questions throughout the seminar, and we're easily accessible for
questions during breaks and after we're done. But yes, we're also
trying to feed ourselves and pay rent as well :).
People need to remember this - since the software is free, the people
who provide it (and make it usable, not always the same :-)) still need to
eat, pay rent, buy technotoys, etc. Even at (free * +$200), you're miles
ahead of Nortel or Cisco where you pay a lot for hardware and then pay
a lot on top for training to be able to use it :-), in some cases yearly
or upgrade
software fees, etc...
Again, I don't think $200 is out of line. It's not for you if you'd
rather read
the source code, but please don't complain about the people for whom this
kind of presentation (& access to these experts) is worth the money.
