In /etc/asteris/zapata.conf in the section before you declare the FXO channels, you need a line that says usecallerid=yes. I think this is what causes the system to wait until the second ring. > 3) How to setup user with phone in office/softphone at home? > - most users in the office have a Polycom 501 > - when they go home, want to use a softphone (XLite or ??) > - can both phones be signed into the same extension at the same time? > - if not... how do you handle this?? Caution: Ugly hack This isn't pretty but I've done this to make things appear correct in a situation like the one you're describing. It's alot of work but it gives users the functionality that they're asking for. Let's assume I have an extension 3001 and the user has a Polycom hard phone, a softphone on her laptop and one on her desktop at home. - I want to use the same extension number to reach all of them - No matter where she dials from, it must appear to come from 3001 I setup 3 SIP accounts called 3001a, 3001b, 3001c. I set their callerid to "Jane Smith" <3001>. I had to setup a custom extension (in the custom extensions file) called 3001 that dialed sip/3001a&3001b&3001c. I hope you could use the ring group feature in [EMAIL PROTECTED] It seemed to be broken in the version I was using and I never got around to playing with it again. All you have to do then is set your Polycom to login as 3001a, your x-lite to login as 3001b etc, etc. I should say that this could be used with a combination of SIP and IAX phones as well. On the polycom, you don't have to show 3001a as the button label, you can override that in the xml file. I'm not sure about x-lite. Hope that helps, Dave
