Let us know what you decide. If you think you'd like to use one IVR for both sites, I can look at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and see what the easiest way would be to do that.
Thanks for the suggestions to replicate the digital receptionist. It is a good idea and I understand the benefits in terms of availability and network bandwidth.
My concern about replicating the IVR and voice files is that there are mail boxes involved in the IVR that are primarily located on ServerA. I think I would need to create either new boxes or pointers to the ServerA mail boxes on ServerB to make the replication work. It becomes a little complicated.
So I ended up using one IVR by creating a second IAX trunk back to ServerA. For the incoming user details on the new trunk, I set the context=from-pstn. On ServerB, I setup one extension that routes over the new trunk, and any calls that come in on the main line are routed back to a group that includes the extension to the digital receptionist on ServerA.
The group ensures that if the connection between ServerA and ServerB breaks (i.e. the IVR doesn't answer) there is a backup extension/voice mail box that can accept the call.
I also got a little fancy with the extension number that calls the auto attendant. I used the same main DID number at the office where ServerA is located, so if someone from the ServerB office wants to call that phone number, the call is routed over IAX as well. Previously, any calls to that number would be routed through the zaptel card and back resulting in either two occupied POTS lines or a busy signal.
Cheers, Sean.
