It'll change the behavior of one of macros in extensions.conf or
extensions_additional.conf (I think).  Probably the dialparties macro.
It's quite possible that the variable you were looking at is actually
where that value ends up in the config file.  The thing is, it
probably would have been overwritten when the config files were
recreated from the database.  That's just the way Trixbox works.
There's a sort of jurisdiction in effect.  Some files are for you to
edit and some are exclusively for Trixbox.  Don't edit the system
files you you'll probably lose your changes on the next restart.

Does that mean you are working with Trixbox?

If you're working from the GUI it's right there in FreePBX.

Setup --> General Options: look under dailing options and get rid of the 'r'
