Chuck,

The SIPBroker DID is like the PSTN gateway numbers for FWD. Calling one
of them gives you access to the network. You can register as a member of
the network and setup your SIP address + a SIPBroker ID. Then if you
call the access number and enter your ID, it calls your SIP address. If
you set it up to give that incoming call DISA, you can make calls out of
your box.

Subject: RE: [on-asterisk] Trip to France... suggestions?

All very good ideas, but I think I would prefer to aim to have my cell
phone as the communication device since I don't think I can get WiFi
signals into the beaches of Normandy (maybe I'm wrong)... ;p

So I don't quite get the SIPBroker thing. It's a telephone number in
France, a single DID? Or do I get my own number in france? (site sort of
implies it's a single DID, if so, how does that work... dial an
extension)? Sorry a bit lost.

Regards,

Chuck

That's a good idea. Actually you don't even need to setup your asterisk
to work with SIPBroker, you can just register an account with fwd or
sipphone and use SIPBroker's gateway to reach the fwd/sipphone network.
