It actually wouldn't surprise me if there were still some in service. Out in my mother's home town there is a museum with one of these switch board units on display. The tag on it says something to the effect of "Donated by MTS after it was removed from service in 1986". And I can assure you this was not the last one still being used by MTS. Many parts of Manitoba still had (have?) "party lines" well into the 1980s. The original "distinctive ring" ;) Amazing how much changed in the 1990s. No wonder Nortel did so well back then. John
