On this matter your window of opportunity has passed. The government
directive is effective today.

Direct action by contacting the government and appearing at CRTC
hearings is by far the best course of action and if everyone did it it
would have an enormous impact. However, the reality is very few
individuals or businesses are able to commit this time and resources
required to accomplish this in an effective way.

That is why there are industry associations which do this. In this case
we formed the CAVP to organize VoIP Providers and manufacturers so we
may be informed and heard at the CRTC and in Ottawa.

The CAVP has been following this matter for some time and has been doing
its part in an attempt to prevent these steps from being taken. If
yourself or other people on this list have an interest in staying
informed on regulatory affairs then I strongly urge you to join the
CAVP.

The CAVP certainly needs the support of its members so it can do its
work more effectively. Membership for individuals and small businesses
is very reasonable.
