I ran into a very similar problem with an SPA941 behind NAT/Firewall
registering with a public server. When I called it, the line lamp
would blink but the phone wouldn't ring, and I'd have to pick up,
hangup, and pick up again to get it to answer. It also took 5 seconds
to make outbound calls, and would sit there saying 'contacting STUN
server..........'

It wasn't until i was messing around with a Budgetone and could not
get it to register that I realized that I had been entering the wrong
address into the phones for the STUN server.

So after correcting that, both the Linksys & Budgetone work without any issues.

A client (same one who has the pile'o'Budgetones) has a Linksys SPA922 for
his own phone. If he picks it up *as* it rings, he gets dialtone while the
phone keeps ringing. If he waits for two rings, it works fine. If he grabs
it immediately, hangs up and then answers again, it works fine too.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Is this a dud phone, something that he
must Just Live With [tm], or is there some magic that can change the way
that it works.

Great minds ask other great minds :-).
