Yes, that software does look interesting - I did download it once but haven't 
played with it yet.  From what I understand, this still requires a skype 
application running on X, there instuctions for using vnc server for X.  Here 
is a link to a fella who reports success, or at least his notes on setting it

I have looked at both but I think there is a better solution called
chanskype which I am interested in.
It comes as a driver running in the asterisk box and it can do as many skype
session as your system can handle in terms of resources.

I wonder if you or anyone has experience with www.chanskype.com ?
