First off, I'm no Linux guru. As I understand it, CentOS is based on
Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Fedora has a common code base with
RHEL but a different release schedule and a few enterprise goodies
added in.
It appears that CentOS 4 is based on RHEL 4

This wikipedia article would seem to say that RHEL 4 (and I assume
CENTOS 4) are based on FC 3.
