Nobody has run into this before? Guess I could have the callout lines
start at channel 1 and if they run out of lines with dial tone, too bad....

same way as on Trixbox 1.2.3. Before it was simply define the groups as
shown, before the individual channel configurations (All Group 0.)

This DID work once I figured out the syntax. With Trixbox 2.0, Asterisk
crashes if you don't also specify the signalling type for each group. When I
try to call out, the attempt goes to Zap line 1 where there is no dial tone (Its
an analog trunk line.) I have the Outbound Route specified as 'g2' like
before. What has changed? I can find no clues so far.
