Hello all,
I have inconsistent complaints from people on the other end of a call,
that they hear echoes, and what they have described as "garbled speech". I hear
them very clearly on my end with only once or twice a momentary echo. By
"inconsistent", I mean that a call to the same destination will be perfectly
clear one time and on the next call they will complain of the echo/garble
making my speech unintelligible.
As near as I can determine, what they describe as "garbled" is a
jitter problem, but I'm not sure.
My setup: Linksys SPA3102 with 4 analog phones on one extension,
connected to the fsx port. I have a fairly slow DSL connection limited to 1
Megabit down and whatever upload speed (not sure really, but slower than down
speed).
What could cause this effect?
1) My slow network connection?
2) Some setting on the SPA3102 that I could adjust?
3) I'm using Acanac (http://www.acanac.com) as my voip provider...
could that be the problem?
4) Something else I haven't thought of?
Similar effects have been noticed when I have used a softphone (Twinkle
or x-lite) on my laptop, so I'm thinnking that it isn't necessarily a problem
with the SPA3102/setup... but I'm open for any suggestions to fix this
consistently.
Thanks in advance for any help,

PS As you can see, Asterisk isn't even in the equation yet, except that the vsp
(Acanac) uses asterisk. So, if this question is deemed imappropriate for this
list please forgive and advise me so.
