I found out more information. IAX debug revealed that the incoming packages from the IAX phone was being received by my asterisk. But the response (outgoing traffic) does not go back to the phone. Anyone knows why ? Is there a NAT setting somewhere in iax config file?? I'm going from memory here but take a look at your externip setting. I'm not sure if it's strictly required but it might help.
