This depends on a number of factors such as call recording,music while waiting, echo cancellation in hardware or software etc..
Many other hardware factors play a part such as motherboard manufacturer, network card i/o capabilities. Memory bus architecture etc.. You can probably run at least 100 simultaneous participants in any configuration on your system. Nothing beats real life hardware scaling testing though! Run simulations and burn-ins on any hardware you plan on placing in to production to get a better idea. In some cases you may find out you can do more than you think, or in a bad scenario you ll find out you have some wicked echo or calls dropping when concurrent channel volumes ramp up.
