Hi Julian, in Trixbox, outgoing routes are selected based on a dial plan and have a trunk priority list ie First choice = Zap/G0, second choice = IAX/1 etc.
All you have to do is set-up an out going route say "LOCAL" set up the dial plan eg. "9|416NXXXXXX" Next select first trunk Add another trunk for second choice etc. Your ITSP doesn't usually want or need the "1" in front of the number so when dialing a Zap trunk you may need to Insert "1" (on the trunk)and drop "1" on the dial plan to dial long distance. eg "91|NXXNXXXXXX Henry < Julian Sulatycki> > I'm not sure if this is Trixbox specific but how would I use the > Asterisk Dial command to make an outgoing call using an outbound route > instead of a trunk directly? > > I'm currently using: Dial(ZAP/g0/numbertocall).
