I've been asked to help configure an Asterisk system in Singapore. Never
traveled that far east and outside of Canada I'm just a phone luser.
Does anyone have any experience of configuring telephony there?
SOHO like setup with 1 POTS line and either local ITSP or direct to one
here in TO for calls to CDN buddies. VoIP phones inside, can I use a
regular Digium TDM400P to connect outside? I found a brief reference to
using loopstart for FXO's on voip-info.org and some notes on disconnect
supervision, looks a bit different from Ma Bell's lines here.
What's their Internet infrastructure like? Pretty good I would bet but
what's the common technology? ADSL?
Any pointers from you globe trotters out there would be much appreciated!
