Hi Jim,
I think you can use ADSI to send all kinds of things, as you suggest,
but it's a matter of what's supported on the CO side.  I assume you're
doing this CPE<->CO.  We've all seen carriers deny that basic features
are even available on their equipment.  "Release line transfer?  Never
heard of it!"

If you control both ends, I'd say Liviu's suggestion is cheap and easy.

If you really want to dig into ADSI, I have a friend who used to work
at Nortel and I think he said he had a hand in that early on.  Let me
know and I can put you in touch.  If I recall, his involvement was to
do with pay phones and moving away from that ground-start type
signaling for payment information and into something digital.

Here's a thought: there would also be a significant ADSI brain trust
at Aastra and they're right in our back yard.
