Anastasia, How is the call coming in to your Asterisk box? Analog line? PRI? VOIP Carrier (if so, who?).
It might depend how you're generating the busy signal and whether the network you're sending to respects that. That is, if you're on an analog line then you're just playing the sound of a busy tone back into the line. Some equipment might look at the audio and see it as busy but others would look at the electrical signaling (IE your equipment went off-hook) and see it as answered. I'd be surprised if it worked at all on an analog line but that illustrates the point. On an aside, the telezapper works on the idea that telemarketing equipment analyzes audio and treats the telezapper sound as "this number is not in service". Newer equipment looks at the ISDN signalling and treats that as answered. I haven't used the Trixbox callback features but those are some thoughts based on some experience I've had with call progress detection. As Jim suggested, if you can send some more details, perhaps we can help some more.
