Hello Ovidiu:

Actual packet analysis I leave it for the last extreme resort. What disturbs me though is when you revert to 1.2, it works. Over the past 3 years of my life with Asterisk I've discovered that either things work, or they don't... and conclusions with packet analysis resulted in the same conclusions ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ovidiu Sas" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Have you checked the SDP content?
Have you checked that RTP packets are being received by asterisk?
If you do a full tcpdump and use wireshark, it will show you the full
content of the IP call (including RTP packets).

Ok... fortunately we were and are playing with a test box. The box was upgraded to 1.4.18. The box was then nuked with a FRESH install of Debian. I always make a MusicOnHold and Echo test before moving on.

In BOTH cases, for the upgrade and also a FRESH clean Debian with kernel 2.6.18 and Asterisk version 1.4.18, we get one way audio. That is we only hear the music on hold and nothing echos back from Echo().

Calls were made through SIP and IAX. WE only hear, but cannot transmit.

Any suggestions?

Best,
Reza.
