Hey all, I come seeking advice after pulling my hair out for hours. I have a client that is looking for three desk phones and two cordless phones that will support SLA (shared line appearance) / BLF (busy lamp field). The idea being I can put a call on hold on line 1 and pick up line 1 from any other phone.
The cordless phones are where I get stuck. I need something that is "dead simple" (preferably individual buttons to select line 1, 2, 3, or 4). I would live with 2 lines on the cordless. I'm not apposed to going for an analog cordless phone and then an ata adapter as that seems to be where I'm headed. I've tried the Astra 480i CT but it doesn't quite cut it as there are a couple of issues for me. The cordless phone and the base station weren't intended to be used by different individuals as you can't direct a call specifically to the cordless. Also when you're on a call on the cordless the base unit won't ring for a new incoming call, just flash. I find the interface on the cordless a bit clumsy for things like transferring, picking up a call on hold, etc. It would be much easier with more programmable buttons. The 480i CT is great it's just not designed for this job. I'm open to most ideas but buying a $1,000 DECT base station for 2 cordless phones is clearly not in the budget.
