thats way to general, does it need pci cards in it? if so , will it need full 
length cards put in it? 
have you chose a motherboard, or cpu type etc... 
 
its much more easier to select a chasis once the basics components and hardware 
requiremnets have been selected, or of course you can work your way backwards :)

Hello All

I am trying to my build a system for general environments
general meaning flexible enough so that if needed it can be rack mounted or
if that option is not available it can be placed on the floor.
I have been searching all day and found a few options but nothing I am happy
with yet. I would like to turn to you all for some suggestions as you have a
lot more experience than I do,

I would like some advise on a cost effective case to use for a general
asterisk build that can be both rack mounted and stand alone
