I'm not surprised Domino's and the like are using Asterisk.
Their business model requires a unique and highly adaptable phone system.
As I understand it, incoming calls to their universal number routes 
calls/orders based
on the area code and exchange to the closest store in the area.
I'm sure that Nortel etc. have a solution but at what cost?
