On the 000-000-0000 I get quite a few of these both at home and our our
work PBX. Typically the ones at home are both domestic and overseas
based telemarketers. The ones at work are clients who are also calling
from overseas and it seems that their CLID is not being transmitted and
that by default it is getting set to 0000000000. I'm assuming that this
is happening some how at this end, since it is 10 digits eveytime and
these client calls are coming from all around the world which of course
have different standard phone number lengths.
So I would not straight up block 000-000-0000, but route it to a Privacy
Manager or an IVR so that if is a legit call they can get through.
And on the spoofing, before the election I got a call that showed a
local number and said something like 'Elect Can Poll Stn', so I answered
it,turns out it was an automated message to get out to vote for Ruby
Dhalla. Now that really pissed me off that an elected official was
spoofing CLID , since if it had said her name I would not have answered
it. I was to busy to figure out who to complain about that too, and
forgot about it until I saw ths thread.
