In regards to implementing email adelivery of voicemail, Ward Mundy has it down to a science for FreePBX:
Visit http://nerdvittles.com/index.php?p=214 Scroll down to "Activating Email delivery.." section and follow along. Check out the links in that paragraph for hard to configure setup where your provider might be blocking port 25 or if you require authentication to their mail server before sending out an email etc. Good luck.
