Cisco does indeed make decent gear, however you do loose the flexibility
to do pretty much anything you want that you get with asterisk, also you
are restricted in features based on your licenses keys that you have
with the system.
Then again, if you do a bad asterisk install on a poor choice of
hardware you could also run into some spectacular issues.
Its really going to come down to costing and features that you really want.
An embedded asterisk solution may also be highly favorable (again
depending on your needs)
