I'm not sure of where locally to get one of those - but you might try
looking at Digikey (their Canadian website is
http://dkc1.digikey.com/ca/en/digihome.html ). They have some connectors
like that, but it has been years since I dealt with them so I have no idea
what their minimum order or shipping costs are.
I'd be a little worried that the circuitboard might be damaged - modern
motherboards usually have many layers and the holes where components mount
are sometimes used to interconnect traces on the different layers. If
there has been no damage, you need to be very careful about removing the
old connector, to avoid mechanical or thermal damage.

Thanks, guys. This explains a lot. Too bad that SS drives were so
expensive at the time. I would have bought one of those instead. BTW,
does anyone know where to order a replacement SATA connector for a
