Subject: Re: [on-asterisk] Asterisk and PRI
-Trunk Selection Sequence
I usually use desending sequencial
** Agreed. Make sure whatever you pick you use the reverse order for picking
outbound lines.
-Hunt Group, Virtual Group
None
-External Name & Number Display (does this mean I can set my own name
and number on the fly)
Have it so asterisk controls outbounf callerid
-Digit Substitution required
No
-Backup D required (y/n)
For 1 PRI non required.
-Line coding & framing (I think this is B8zs/esf)
Yes ESF, B8ZS
-ISDN protocol (I think this is NI-2)
NI2 you will not be able so send oubound callerid name, so I new
usually use NI1
-Release line trunking (Allstream says it's a $75 charge)
This is so that if you transfer an inbound call to an other external
number is will release youe B channels and it;s the telco that wil do
the bridge. I was able to get this working on analog lines, but never on
a PRI.
** Does work on a PRI but only across spans serviced by the same D channel.
Required current version of Zaptel/Dahdi & Libpri. If you use this you can
decrease you call costs by taking Asterisk and your PRI channels out of the
picture for off-site transfers. On the downside, if your transfer is for a
call centre or external subcontractor where you want/need stats you will
lose them in this scenario because Asterisk is no longer in the picture. (In
the call centre world they refer to this as "cradle to grave" reporting).
-Digits to outpulse
Not sure about that one.
** This is your unbound DNIS (or ANI if you prefer on PRI). In a 10-digit
locale, ask for all 10. If you are in a 7-digit locale you can get by with
7. The point is to ensure you can definitively identify the source of the
inbound call. Providing all inbound digits just makes you code (& life)
easier.
