Thanks for your responses. Indeed this is a tech job and not a
programmer's job and the guy will have to so other tech/support tasks
beside Asterisk. What I have done is a 10 questions exam relating to
asterisk, telephony (analog, digital and voip) just to know the guy
understands some concept and his way of thinking with the 10th question
being a typical support question for a PRI issue.
I have also rigged a 3 phone system where the 3 phones exebit issues
that we often see.
- One phone does not authenticate (cable plugged in the wrong port on
the phone)
- One phone can make inbound and outbound calls but can not receive any
calls (bad unconditional forward set)
- And the last phone can not access his voicemail.

For a further test the applicant could be asked to add a Conference or C\F
