The UT50/1 are a timing source tool for Asterisk. This is not an EC module.

When you purchase the EC option, Sangoma uses DSP base modules to do EC without using your system's CPU. EC is very demanding on CPU and this is why it works better on DSP base modules.

But there is USB echo cancelors from Sangoma: UT50 and UT51. Wondering if anyone had any expereince with them?

Spend the money and get the 'can. If you're doing any sort of VoIP on
that system (including just IP phones), you WILL get echo, and the
software echo cans will not be able to handle all of it. The time you
spend trying to fix the inevitable echo will cost you far more than the
one-time cost of the can.
