Mike, thanks for the pointer. That's gotta be it. People reporting phone crash when dialing 911. That definitely sounds like a lawsuit for Rogers to take such a bold action even with phones not running their android version. I couldn't find anything on Google using the msg content. I guess it's very new. -Bruce

I got it also, did a quick google and this is the only thing that I can find that might explain why. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1572861 <quote>However, with my Rogers HTC Magic running the stock ROM, if I have GPS enabled when I dial 911, the phone crashes and reboots. I tested it 10 times, and it crashed 9 of those times. If I disable the GPS, it doesn't crash.</quote> Also, I heard that Roger's is going to be offering a free swap of HTC Dream, for a Magic, since for some reason the Dream is not upgradeable to Android 2.0 but the Magic is. If this is true I find it hard to believe that Rogers would do anything for free, unless HTC is participating in funding it also. HTC is urgently working on a software upgrade and we will provide details shortly so you can re-enable GPS. What the heck does GPS have to do with 911? Is this some sort of spam? Does this mean I couldn't make 911 calls in the past 12 months when my GPS was ON if I was in trouble? LOL...nice find/really quick. -Bruce _________________________________________________________________ Reinvent how you stay in touch with the new Windows Live Messenger. http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9706116 -- Mike Ashton CTO Quality Track Intl Ph: 647-724-3500 x 301 Cell: 416-527-4995 QTI CONFIDENTIAL AND PROPRIETARY INFORMATION The contents of this material are confidential and proprietary to Quality Track International, Inc. and may not be reproduced, disclosed, distributed or used without the express permission of an authorized representative of QTI.
