Many VOIP phones and analog adaptors interpret "#" and "*" as special
keys and may not transmit them through to the server.

For example, on all Linksys phones, if you dial 2345#, the # is
interpreted as a "dial" command and is stripped from the number.

This may or may not be affecting what you are doing but it's worth
knowing.

Personally I avoid all key sequences that include * or # for exactly
this reason.
