Hi Everyone,
This is probably asked over and over and is an older topic to you but I have a few specific questions regarding Asterisk + Nortel Meridian system. Never done much to Nortel systems so I am not familiar with them. Client likes to keep the Nortel system but can't grasp the idea of Analogue telephony cards and wants cheap outbound calls and SIP phones. So, looking to do that for them but I am not sure how to go about it with Nortel system in place. I am looking to switch their 10 lines that is currently connected to a Nortel Meridian system to Asterisk with Sangoma A400 cards. My specific questions are: - If I do that, do I need to call Bell and ask them to do something on their end or the lines are still analogue and it has nothing to do with Bell if we change the PBX from Meridian to Asterisk? I just cut the cables and connect them to Sangoma card? - If I have to keep Meridian system since it would be too much of trouble to get Bell to change those lines to regular business lines, then what equipment(s) am I looking to buy to have Asterisk in the picture as well? Thanks a lot, Bruce _________________________________________________________________ 30 days of prizes: Hotmail makes your day easier! Enter Now. http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9729710
