Why not just suplement a few lines with an audio-codes gateway
(something actually considered carrier grade) and program long distance
on the meridian to go out of those lines? that makes way more sense.
Phil
I am looking to switch their 10 lines that is currently connected to a
Nortel Meridian system to Asterisk with Sangoma A400 cards.
My specific questions are:
- If I do that, do I need to call Bell and ask them to do something on
their end or the lines are still analogue and it has nothing to do with Bell
if we change the PBX from Meridian to Asterisk? I just cut the cables and
connect them to Sangoma card?
- If I have to keep Meridian system since it would be too much of trouble
to get Bell to change those lines to regular business lines, then what
equipment(s) am I looking to buy to have Asterisk in the picture as well?
Thanks a lot,
Bruce
