Most newer machines will work over the internet, but theirs may be set to use
dialup, even if IP capable. Many small stores haven't switched either because
they don't have internet, or nobody told them they could. Some users also have
IP as primary with dialup as backup.

Subject: [on-asterisk] Does / Can PoS Work Over VoIP?

Hello Everyone!

I had a client ask a question today that I haven't really experienced
before: they own a store, and they would like to have VoIP phonelines, but
they are wondering if it will work with their PoS (Interac). Does anyone
have an answer? I'm not sure, because I thought that Interac worked over the
internet, so I'm assuming yes, but the more heads the merrier!

Thanks in advance!
