That is exactly what I've done, I started my own circle called Telcom,
and as I've been sending invites out to people (6 already this AM) and
people in my Android/Gmail phone contact list appear I've been adding
them to it. I'm adding others not in TAUG but from other telcom lists
and sources, like freeswitch, plivo, asterisk linkedin and waiting to
see if anything will start to flow in the circle stream.
I think it will become a great resource, and an occasional hangout could
be interesting.
