Thanks for your reply, Bryce. That's exactly what I've done but Astlinux doesn't create the /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf file after booting. In rc.conf, I've made the following entries:

DOMAIN=accessit.co.uk
HOSTNAME=asterisk
SMTP_DOMAIN="accessit.co.uk"
SMTP_HOSTNAME="asterisk"
SMTP_SERVER=<external_mailserver_IP> (I've tried this address in quotes and I've tried the FQDN of our mailserver with and without quotes)

I've also configured 'EXTGW=' with our gateway on our DSL and the 'DNS=' entry with our DNS servers as supplied by our ISP. 'INTIP' and 'INTNM' has been set to the static internal address of our Astlinux server. I can ping google.com and I can Telnet from our Astlinux server to our mailserver on port 25 and get a 'helo' and 'ehlo' response (there is a small delay in the initial Telnet connection with our mailserver to help minimise spam - could this be the problem? The delay is less than 30 seconds).

Any thoughts from anyone would be appreciated. Also, any examples of rc.conf entries that have enabled the voicemail to email feature to work would be great. I'm running Astlinux version 0.4.0 with Asterisk version 1.2.7.1.

David.
