Oooooh, I want this capability bad !!! Right now, I use a Bluetooth enabled "Doc-n-Talk" gizmo connected to an FXO port to do this trick ... It works well but is yet another gadget laying around ... And of course the latest incarnation of my Astlinux server has no PCI for an FXO port, but it do have USB ... If could easily integrate this function right in my Asterisk system, would be a significant reduction in wires and other clutter ... But it would have to be pretty simple to setup as I am something of a putz about much of this stuff ...
My reason for using this technique is smply because my home seems to be located in Verizon cell hell ... There is a "sweet spot" where I get a mediocre signal up in my bed room ... So I locate my cell phone on a charger there and use the Bluetooh enabled Doc-n-Talk to pipe it into either my Panasonic KSU or the Asterisk server depending on how I have things setup that week ... This lets me get my cell calls conveneiently at any of the phones in the house ... The other thing that would make this even more interesting, is if it could somehow support more than one bluetooth cell phone connection ... On my Verizon family plan we four of the darn things ... Would be REALLY slick if all four could connect up at same time and provide dial/ring to Asterisk ... Am not sure what the technical hurdles would be to accomplish this though ... This may be beyond reach ... But sure would be slick !!! Never really thought about how to use this to save money as everytime I look at my cell phone bill I go blind with rage ... I'm broke right now (just paid the cell phone bill) but can afford to commit $50 bucks to the challenge ... Any others care to make it more interesting ??? Maybe if we can get a few hundred in the kitty it will provide insentive to make this one happen sooner instead of later !!! However, it is a major undertaking as I would have to include bluetooth support in the kernel, bluez, chan_bluetooth, etc. When I have some time I can take care of this. -- Kristian Kielhofner _______________________________________________ Astlinux-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.kriscompanies.com/mailman/listinfo/astlinux-users Donations to support AstLinux are graciously accepted via PayPal to [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Astlinux-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.kriscompanies.com/mailman/listinfo/astlinux-users Donations to support AstLinux are graciously accepted via PayPal to [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Astlinux-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.kriscompanies.com/mailman/listinfo/astlinux-users Donations to support AstLinux are graciously accepted via PayPal to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
