but with the web server embedded into each asterisk install, this does not allow for the ability have dedicated web server for managing a group of asterisk servers... or does this new GUI allow for managing more than one asterisk server?. Also, if the web server crashed does it bring asterisk down with it?

Patrick,

        It is no secret that I am not a fan of FreePBX.  From what I have seen
so far, it is obvious that the Digium GUI has an exceptionally clean
design with a great implementation.  This qualifies it as a candidate in
AstLinux.

        FreePBX was never even considered.  Although many people find it
useful, the design is horrible...  I felt that AstLinux would not be
better with it included.

        Competition is always a good thing.  Hopefully the Digium GUI will make
both products better for the end user.
