replying to my own message: The nice folks at PC Engines say "Four reasons:
- One more thing to break... - tinyBIOS doesn't use CMOS RAM to store setup (safely stored in flash) - time servers... - limited shelf life / recycling hassles" So I guess I was wrong about losing BIOS settings, so the main hassle is losing the date and time. I know, run ntpdate at boot. :) This is going to take some getting used to! -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Carla Schroder Linux geek and random computer tamer check out my Linux Cookbook! best book for sysadmins and power users ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ _______________________________________________ Astlinux-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.kriscompanies.com/mailman/listinfo/astlinux-users Donations to support AstLinux are graciously accepted via PayPal to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
