Hello Mathias,

maybe you could explain again your problem?

Quoting one of your e-mails:

"When I change to RW file system :
[OK] /etc/misdn-init.conf already present. backing it up to
/etc/misdn-init.conf.save
[OK] /etc/misdn-init.conf created. It's now safe to run
"/usr/sbin/misdn-init start"
[ii] make your port (1) available in asterisk by editing
"/etc/asterisk/misdn.conf"

Seems that this worked. Later you said, when you put the filesystem in
RW, asterisk doesn't start... I don't understand this.

Peter Roelandts told you to check the logs. What did you find there?

An misdn howto for configuring misdn in astlinux is not necessary since
the only thing you have to do is to enable it in rc.conf.

Here a short description of the start-up procedure:

1.) mISDN subsystem checks if a suitable ISDN card can be detected
2.) mISDN subsystem loads the corresponding drivers
3.) Asterisk starts and loads all specified modules (or all modules if
configured)
4.) chan_misdn checks if the mISDN subsystem is available. If it is not
initialized, it will abort the startup process of Asterisk.

If your Asterisk doesn't start, most likely your mISDN subsystem has not
been initialized. This is done by "misdn-init config", followed by
"misdn-start". Both commands are automatically run by the asterisk init
script.

Repeat your steps which I quoted from your earlier post.

after you ran misdn-init config, run misdn-init start. Then run asterisk
for testing like "asterisk -vvvvvv". You'll see whether chan_misdn gets
a problem and if it does it will tell you what the problem is.

So, please give us more input on your problem.

regards,

Ingmar
