Assuming you get get the system to boot in one way or another (DSL boot CD should work) all you should really have to do is make sure that the flash isn't mounted, download the latest Astlinux from Source Forge and then gunzip -c /path/to/astlinux.img.gz > /dev/sda replacing sda with whatever device your flash memory is.
